How to Debadge Your Car Without Damaging It

When you want to customize the look of your vehicle, you may need to take off the badge that was installed during the manufacturing process. Some badges are attached with metal or plastic clips that fit through the body. If this is the case, you are better off having the dealership remove them for you.

When the badge is attached with an adhesive, you can remove it yourself. To do this, use a Thermos of hot water to loosen the adhesive. Spray adhesive remover onto the area around the badge. Apply heat from a hair dryer. Use a plastic wedge to pry off the badge.
