Choosing Between a Compact Temporary Spare Tire and a Full-Size Spare Tire

One of the features on a new vehicle that you need to take into consideration is the spare tire that it comes with. Smaller models are going to usually equip you with a compact temporary tire, if anything at all. This tire is designed to replace a flat and get you moving again. You can't finish up a road trip on this tire. You'll need to stop shortly after and have it replaced. You also can't hit top speeds with a compact spare tire.

A full-size spare is an ideal spare tire option. It basically provides you with another tire on your vehicle that is exactly like what you're already driving on. You don't have to rush to get it replaced. You will probably want to grab a replacement at some point though, in case you get another flat.
